For over one hundred years,The Climbers Club journal has been a repository for some of the best outdoor writing in the world. With contribitions going down the years from many giants of UK climbing including Archer Thomson,
George Leigh Mallory, Menlove Edwards,Colin Kirkus,
through to Chris Bonington and some of the modern eras most popular outdoor writers- the responsibility to maintain these high standards is a daunting one. However, new editor Tim Oliver is looking forward to the challenge and looks set to broaden the base with regard to writers and the extend the area beyond pure mountaineering activities.

Supported by section editors Liz Cripps, Steve Dean,Cathy Woodhead and Justin Shiels with David Medcalf continuing to look after the Obituary section of the journal. Tim's team will hope to maintain the high standards set by retiring editor Iain Peters.
Tim is a United States resident who works in the field of medical science and has been a member of the club for over 10 years.As someone who is passionate about mountaineering history and tradition,he was closely involved with the section of the club who recently campaigned -successfully-against internal and external development projects at the club's historic Helyg Club in the Ogwen Valley,N Wales.
The new editor has stated his desire to include articles by non club members in the journal and publish articles on the natural environment and conservation issues. Adding that he is not afraid to include pieces which are controversial and challenging.
Given the great support The Climbers Club and club writers have given to Footless Crow then I for one wish Tim and the team all the very best in their endeavours!
