Ron Fawcett heads a largely anonymous short list of writers chosen by judges,Ian Smith, Barry Imeson and Kym Martindale for this years BT award. The winner to be announced at this year's Kendal Mountaineering Film Festival. Big Ron's 'Rock Athlete', jointly written with popular outdoor and travel writer, Ed Douglas, is the only name that will be instantly recognized on the list.
The remaining candidates include......Simon Thompson,Unjustifiable Risk; Laurence Fearnley with The Hut Builder Stephen Schmid with Climbing Philosophy for everyone and Graham Bowley with No way down.Last years Boardman-Tasker winner was the popular US climbing superstar, Steve House with 'Beyond the Mountain'.
