The 6th Annual REEL ROCK Film Tour will launch once again in autumn 2011 and the organisers want to see your 2-minute climbing-related film to determine whether it’ll be a part of this action-packed, extreme climbing film festival. The filmmaking competition is on now, and the deadline for submissions is July 15, 2011. Films from all over the world are being accepted from professionals, amateurs, first-timers and seasoned veterans.
Would you like to see your film featured on this exciting tour? Over 60,000 fans across the world could be seeing it in the upcoming REEL ROCK festival. You also have a chance of winning a cash prize as well as a very choice gear package from The North Face, Windstopper, Petzl, Evolv, Climbing Magazine, Urban Climber, GOAL ZERO, Sterling Rope and CLIF Bar.
All film content must be climbing related and humor/spoofs are encouraged. You can enter more than one film in the contest, but just remember it cannot be more than two minutes long. The best entries will be selected by REEL ROCK judges and post them on www.reelrocktour.com for voting by August 1st, 2011. Two films will be chosen; one through online viewer’s choice and the other by the REEL ROCK judges. They will be announced at the Boulder, Colorado kick-off of the REEL ROCK Tour on September 15th, 2011 and on the REEL ROCK Web site on September 16th. The two winning films will be featured on the 2011 REEL ROCK Film Tour.
Your film could be among some of the wildest climbing stories from around the globe presented by Sender Films and Big UP Productions. The line-up will include the legendary race for the Nose speed record; a nine-year-old bouldering prodigy; a high-lining champion; and an insane ice climbing film.
So...dig out that super 8 cine camera....OK...your HD compact or camcorder... and apply a deft yank on the rope just as your mate attempts some hi ball crux and don't forget to ignore your belay brake and concentrate on framing the action !
