Alain 'Spiderman' Robert,the world's leading builderer,finally took a fall when attempting to scale Turkey's tallest tower; Istanbul's Sapphire Building. Robert was nearly a thousand feet up when he apparently encountered grease and oil smearing the recess chute he was jamming in.
Thankfully for the diminutive Frenchman, he was using a shunt device on a fixed top rope when he peeled off. One wag reported that when Robert did eventually complete the climb, he was somewhat subdued and lacking his normal irrepressible swagger and joy de vivre!
It's not reported as to why the normally bold Robert eschewed his normal soloing style and in effect became the world's highest top roper ?
