I personally view this article as a great disservice to the geospatial community in that it gives the purveyor of a proprietary coordinate system a forum in which to hawk a product that runs directly counter to U.S. national policy as embodied in formal decisions of the FGDC, National Search and Rescue Committee and others (implementation of the U.S. National Grid). Talbot Brooks was much nicer in saying the same thing. Go here for the article:
