The Council advises MnGeo about issues, policies, priorities, and investments needed to improve services statewide through the coordinated, affordable, reliable, and effective use of geospatial technology. Membership comprises representatives of a cross-section of organizations. These include city, county, regional, state, federal and tribal governments, educational organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and other stakeholder groups that benefit from geospatial technology. Council members are appointed for 2 year terms through the State’s open appointments process. Application forms and general State open appointment information can be found on the Secretary of State’s Open Appointments website. Applicants should submit their application to the Secretary of State’s Office; in addition, sending a copy directly to Mn.Geo@state.mn.us is encouraged.
The application deadline is July 15, 2011 or until positions are filled.
